  • CTA and agroBRIDGES participate in Fruit Attraction through the European agroBRIDGES project to promote short food supply chains
  • At the agroBRIDGES stand, the 'Toolbox', 12 practical tools to bring producers, farmers and consumers closer together, has been presented
  • An online training event on the results of the project will be held on 10th October

Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (CTA) has participated in the Fruit Attraction fair, one of the largest fruit and vegetable events in Europe, through its European project agroBRIDGES. From 3rd to 5th October, CTA Innovation consultants María Jiménez and Paula Rosa, together with the Communication technician Sofía Sánchez, have been at stand 5H20 of IFEMA (Madrid) publicly exhibiting the agroBRIDGES ‘Toolbox’, 12 practical tools created to promote Short Food Supply Chains (SFSCs).

The event was attended by agroBRIDGES project partners, as well as the presentation: ‘agroBRIDGES: Boosting Short Food Supply Chains in Europe‘, given by Nathalie Chavrier, CTA’s Agrifood technical officer, and George Malliopoulos, agroBRIDGES project coordinator at Q-Plan International, at the Fruit Next forums of the fair. CTA also organised an agenda of visits to the stands of member and partner companies present at Fruit Attraction, so that they could present their products to the members of the consortium.

The agroBRIDGES project, which ends in December 2023, is in the process of maximising and replicating its results at European level. CTA, as leader of this work package, will present these tools in an online training event on 10th October. Registration is open on this link: FORM

Toolbox

The agroBRIDGES Toolbox brings together the results of this project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. It is aimed at producers and farmers, consumers, distributors, public bodies and companies in the HORECA sector, and its contents are available in 12 languages.

Available on a website, the tools are grouped into four blocks according to their usefulness: digital tools, such as the Decision Support Tool, Net, Smart Delivery and Hear my Voice; communication material such as Why am I special, Yes you can, Label me, Know your local food and #Weneedlocalfood; training material, such as Support for food procurement; and event organisation, such as Let’s build our SFSCs and Let’s meet!

European projects at Fruit Attraction

During its participation in Fruit Attraction 2023, CTA has promoted the innovation developed in other European projects related to the agri-food sector. One of them is ZeroWan initiative to prevent and reduce food waste in which CTA leads an Andalusian innovation laboratory. Also present were projects twinned with agroBRIDGES and addressing related topics, such as Cocoreado, Sisters and Beatles.
