CTA organises three webinars on bioeconomy governance
  • The events, part of the European SCALE-UP project, will be held on 12th September and 1st and 17th October.
  • The General Secretariat for Agriculture, Livestock and Food of the Andalusian Regional Government will participate in the first seminar, presenting the Andalusian Strategy for Circular Bioeconomy.

Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (CTA), in collaboration with the German company WIP Renewable Energies, is organising three online seminars on the governance of the bioeconomy in regional systems. The seminars, which are part of the European SCALE-UP project, an initiative funded by the Horizon Europe programme and of which both entities are partners, will bring together experts to analyse different aspects related to this topic on 12nd September and 1st and 17th October.

Specifically, in the session on 12nd September, entitled ‘Empowering rural communities: the importance of developing governance models on circular bioeconomy’, different regional success stories of bioeconomy governance will be presented. Mar Cátedra, Technical Advisor of the General Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Food of the Andalusian Regional Government, will present the Andalusian Strategy for Circular Bioeconomy.

She will be accompanied by members of BioFuel Region (Sweden), who will present the work of the European BIOMODEL4REGIONS project; the E-zavod institute, to show the circular bioeconomy strategy of Podravje (Slovenia); and the European Bio-based Industries Consortium (Belgium), which will explain an innovative governance model in the private sector for the promotion of the bioeconomy through public-private partnerships.

The session on 1st October will analyse the different tools created to promote governance, and will end on 17th October with a presentation on the possibilities of European Digital Innovation Hubs as drivers of the bioeconomy.

The seminars of the European SCALE-UP project are an educational and participative activity, open to political representatives, public and private entities, companies, research personnel and the general public. They address different topics related to the bioeconomy, with special emphasis on the specific situation of the six regions participating in the initiative: Andalusia, Northern Sweden, Mazovia (Poland), the Atlantic Arc of France, Upper Austria and Strumica (North Macedonia). English will be the language of instruction throughout the meeting.
