Santander, the headquarters of the Joint Secretariat of the European regional development program Interreg Sudoe, has been the chosen venue to hold a two-day seminar on the comprehensive management of projects developed under the 2021-2027 program. The meeting, which took place on April 16 and 17 at the Santemar hotel, brought together more than a hundred members from Spain, France, and Portugal from the 34 initiatives approved in the last call.

Technological Corporation of Andalusia, which leads the communication strategy and several technical work packages of the SCAIRA and SOLLAGUA projects, was represented by Carlos García, sectoral technical manager of Building and Civil Works, and Manuel Silva, Communication technician.

During the event, topics such as the justification of expenses derived from the projects, what the technical follow-up of the initiatives consists of, or how to align the objectives set out in the proposal with those of the program itself, among others, were discussed. Additionally, for the first time, the Joint Secretariat organized training workshops for communication officers.

Likewise, the sessions also served to better understand the other ongoing projects and evaluate possibilities for collaboration.

Interreg is an essential instrument in the European Union that strengthens cooperation between regions and countries within the EU. The program plays a vital role in promoting regional development, cohesion, and reducing economic disparities between areas with similar characteristics.
