Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA) has strengthened its commitment to the circular economy through its participation in the third meeting of the Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme. CTA’s Innovation Consultants, Antonio Carlos Ruiz and Rafael Dueñas, along with Communications Technician Sofía Sánchez, attended the meeting, held from April 2 to 4 in Sarajevo, which brought together 158 organizations from 18 countries across the Mediterranean region.

Interreg Euro-MED is a European territorial cooperation programme that promotes sustainable, smart, and inclusive development in the Mediterranean region. Its Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission includes 14 thematic projects and 2 governance projects focused on four key areas: marine resources, agri-food systems, industrial transition, and resource valorization.

CTA actively participates in Interreg Euro-MED through two projects co-financed by the programme. On one hand, CircleMED focuses on developing a tool to assess circularity in SMEs. On the other hand, VERDEinMED aims to promote a more sustainable textile value chain.

Prior to the Interreg Euro-MED event, on April 1 and 2, the CTA team also attended the CircleMED consortium meeting, organized by the Bosnian partner SERDA. In addition to reviewing the project’s progress, the CircleMED members explored the use of gamification for education and the dissemination of the circular economy.
