The European project AeroSTREAM (Strengthening Research and Innovation Excellence in Autonomous Aerial Systems), of which CTA is part of the consortium, has recently participated in an inspirational workshop on STEM careers, held at the Juan de Mairena Institute in Marina del Aljarafe (Seville), with the aim of bringing science, technology and European research closer to the new generations.

During the event, Marta Macías, innovation consultant at CTA, partner of the project, shared with more than 50 students and teachers her professional experience and the potential offered by STEM degrees, not only in the academic field, but also in emerging sectors such as autonomous aerial systems.
In addition to reviewing the many career opportunities linked to engineering and physics, Marta presented AeroSTREAM as a real example of technological innovation, cross-border cooperation and knowledge transfer between public institutions in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Spain, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. An integrative approach to strengthen research capacities and foster lasting synergies between European countries.
One of the highlights of the intervention was the visibility of the role of women in highly technological sectors, encouraging female students to explore their scientific vocation without gender barriers.
The initiative was very well received by the students, who showed a remarkable curiosity for the technologies presented. Many of them discovered for the first time the work being carried out in the field of aerial robotics in South East Europe, and several expressed their interest in pursuing studies in robotics or physics.
To close the session, information materials on the AeroSTREAM project were handed out, raising further interest in the opportunities offered by European cooperation programmes.
