  • This initiative brings research closer to the public, promoting the social value of science through fun, informative and participatory activities.

The European project AeroSTREAM, in which CTA participates, has been present at the European Researchers’ Night 2024, one of the most relevant scientific dissemination events on the continent, held simultaneously in the eight Andalusian capitals on Friday 27 September.

From an information stand, CTA representatives presented the objectives and progress of the AeroSTREAM project, which seeks to strengthen scientific excellence and innovation in autonomous aerial systems through transnational cooperation between institutions from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Spain, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. During the event, promotional materials of the project were distributed among the attendees and a space for direct dialogue with citizens was generated.

CTA team was represented by Silvia de los Santos, technical manager of the aerospace sector and production processes; together with Nicola Asaro, Innovation technician; and Marta González, Communication technician. The purpose of their participation was to bring the objectives of the project closer to the general public, to make Andalusian involvement in high-impact European initiatives visible and to promote interest in science and technology.

AeroSTREAM is funded by the Horizon Europe programme and promotes the improvement of institutional capacities in research and innovation, the strengthening of international scientific networks and the promotion of technology transfer in emerging regions of Southeast Europe. Initiatives like this consolidate a more connected, open and inclusive R&D&I, aligned with the Horizon Europe Missions, the central theme of this edition of the event.

The European Researchers’ Night is an initiative of the European Commission that has been held since 2005 in more than 400 cities and seeks to bring the work of researchers closer to the public, promoting the social value of science through recreational, informative and participatory activities. In Andalusia, it is coordinated by the Descubre Foundation and funded by the Regional Ministry of University, Research and Innovation.
