Efficient energy supply in buildings. Needs and opportunities

On May 25, CTA organizes this online conference within the framework of the European project HP4ALL, which aims to inform and raise awareness among citizens and professionals about the opportunities and economic and environmental advantages of new sustainable air conditioning technologies.

The built environment is responsible for 40% of energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions in the EU. Therefore, from mid-2020, the regulations require new homes to be designed and equipped with materials and equipment that allow a very significant reduction in their energy consumption for air conditioning, lighting, domestic hot water and other domestic demands.

However, the vast majority of the Spanish housing stock (more than 75% according to the EU) is far from complying with these regulations.

To remedy this serious shortfall, significant allocations of Next Generation EU Funds (almost 7,000 million euros) have been planned through the Housing Rehabilitation and Urban Regeneration Plan jointly managed by the State and the Autonomous Communities. In the specific case of Andalusia, the recent implementation of the Ecovivienda Plan Plan, supported by these funds, is a clear example of this commitment.

However, in addition to financial assistance, it is important to reinforce information and training on the possibilities and technical solutions both among the public (individuals and homeowners' associations) and among construction professionals themselves.

In this sense, HP4ALL aims to provide simple tools to know the best solutions to adopt in each case and references on the most appropriate type of training and professional qualification to request the installation and maintenance of this type of technologies.

The HP4ALL project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement number 891775.
