The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) commissioned CTA to prepare a report on technologies for the valorization of residues from family farming in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) through bioeconomy strategies.
The region has a large volume of biomass (residues) from family farming, and the implementation of bioeconomy strategies can contribute to their revaluation. Following an analysis of the opportunities and challenges, the study prepared by CTA identifies a catalog of technologies for agricultural use and proposes a road map for the adoption of bioeconomy strategies in the short, medium and long term in LAC.
