The IRMHUB project (Interregional EU Innovation Hubs for Circularity and Green Supply of Raw Materials to Achieve the Resilience of the Main Underdeveloped Regions Specialized in Critical Industrial Value Chains) is a European initiative funded by the Interregional Innovation Investment (I3) program. It has a duration of two years and an approximate budget of 1.3 M€.
The main objective of the project is to create a European meta-hub that promotes circularity and supports less developed regions in investing in sustainable supplies in three strategic areas: wind energy and electric mobility, components for battery manufacturing, and metals used in microchip production.
The project structure includes the creation and coordination of three regional hubs, distributed according to their geographical location: southern, northern, and central-eastern Europe. IRMHUB will offer entities involved in these groups personalized services to promote industrial development and facilitate access to international networks and opportunities.
IRMHUB is driven by a consortium of 14 entities from seven European countries, including CTA as the only Andalusian partner. Additionally, the project collaborates with 12 other entities, bringing the total number of participating organizations to 26.
The overall coordination of the project is led by the Democritus University of Thrace, located in Greece.
