The objective of the European SPEEDIER project is to promote energy audits and the implementation of energy saving measures in SMEs. It has a budget of 2 million euros and is co-financed by the Horizon 2020 Framework Program (H2020) of the European Union (EU).
SPEEDIER contemplates four pilot areas for its implementation and bases its development on self-financing by the SMEs of both the energy audit and the implementation of energy saving measures. For this purpose, an energy manager will be subcontracted, which SMEs will be able to access when needed.
The project will develop a highly innovative one-stop shop to assist SMEs in energy management, providing them with information, advice, capacity building, energy auditing, financing, implementation of energy efficiency solutions and impact monitoring.
SPEEDIER is expected to contribute to energy savings of 8GWh/year and 1,280 tons of CO2 per year. Over the course of the project, SPEEDIER will train more than 650 people in energy saving best practices and upgrade the skills of 50 experts.
