CTA (Technological Corporation of Andalusia) is the only Spanish partner present in the new European project CircleMED, which has just started, funded with more than 1.8 million euros by the Interreg Euro-MED Programme. The aim of this initiative, driven by an international consortium of seven entities, is to turn the Mediterranean area into territories based on the circular economy, accelerating the dissemination of circular and climate-neutral practices and the green transition of local civil, industrial and institutional systems.
With a duration of almost three years, CircleMED (Testing Circular Economy solutions for the green transition of the Mediterranean area) will focus on promoting circularity and testing resource efficiency, especially through an innovative circular assessment tool for SMEs, the creation of a transnational network of territorial circular axes and the development of plans for the transferability of results throughout the Mediterranean arc.
To this end, it will promote the transition process towards circular and sustainable production and consumption patterns, stimulating awareness and testing innovative circular solutions, while working closely with citizens, policy makers, business support organizations, academia, sharing knowledge and responsibilities for the green transition. The University of Turin is in charge of coordinating the activities.
CTA’s role
Until the end of the project, CTA will have a leading role in the study and classification of the circular assessment tools already available and in the valorization of the local and transnational approach of the circular economy. The foundation will also support in Communication and Dissemination aspects.
