Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA) has organised the international entrepreneurship event of the European SCALE-UP project within the framework of the BIO360 fair, one of the most important meetings on bioenergy and bioeconomy at international level, with more than 5,000 participants from 45 countries.
On 5 and 6 February 2025, CTA’s Biotechnology technical officer, Carmen Ronchel, and Innovation consultants Rafael Castillo, Antonio Carlos Ruiz and Marina Barquero were present in Nantes (France), at stand G28 of the fair, to accompany the entrepreneurs selected by the SCALE-UP Innovation Support Programme, led by CTA, in their search for funding.
SCALE-UP, an initiative funded by the Horizon Europe programme, aims to promote the development of entrepreneurial ideas based on the valorisation of biomass in six European regions. In the case of Andalusia, the two ideas selected by its Innovation Support Programme are based on the use of olive residues, and were represented in Nantes by José Antonio La Cal, founding partner of Bioliza, and Francisco Javier Navas, researcher at Andaltec.
During both days, those attending the fair were able to meet the project partners as well as the entrepreneurs present. In addition, on 6 February, the SCALE-UP conference was held in the BIO360 Circular room, a meeting in which five entrepreneurs from France, Spain and Poland shared their experiences and challenges on their way to commercialising their products.
