The 9th Conference of the Atlantic Stakeholders Platform awards the Atlantic Project award in the category of marine training and ocean literacy to the European project Emporia4KT.

The II International Meeting on Knowledge and the Blue Economy, InnovAzul 2022, held at the Palacio de Congresos de Cádiz, has hosted, among its parallel activities, the 9th Conference of the Atlantic Stakeholders Platform. The Atlantic Maritime Strategy was adopted by the European Commission in 2011 to respond to the four member states with Atlantic coasts, Spain, France, Ireland and Portugal, to boost the sustainable blue economy of the Atlantic Ocean Area through more ambitious cooperation. , open and effective that identifies its challenges and opportunities.

The Atlantic Conference, which meets with the idea of facilitating a sustainable blue green economy, has included different talks by intellectual leaders, change agents, opportunity investors, as well as interactive workshops, networking meetings, project exhibitions and delivery of awards.

One of the awarded projects has been Emporia4KT, which has received the Atlantic Project award in the category of marine training and ocean literacy. Emporia4KT is a European project whose objective is the transfer of research results to create value and promote the European Blue Economy.

The project is co-financed by the European Union Interreg Atlantic Area Regional Development Fund.

From November 29 to December 2, the II International Meeting on Knowledge and Blue Economy, InnovAzul 2022, has been held at the Palacio de Congresos de Cádiz. The participants have had the opportunity to collaborate, organize B2B meetings, network, find new partners, establish strategic alliances and synergies, as well as publicize innovative initiatives, solutions and projects that contribute to sustainability towards a Blue and Green Economy.

In addition to the actions included in the meeting’s agenda, important parallel activities have been carried out, including, among others, the 9th Conference of the Atlantic Stakeholders Platform.

InnovAzul is organized by the University of Cádiz in collaboration with the Campus of International Excellence of the Sea, CEI MAR, the European University of the Seas SEA-EU and with the support of the Junta de Andalucía, the Cádiz City Council, the Port of Cádiz and other administrations within the framework of the ITEAZUL Project. Francisco Piniella, rector of the University of Cádiz, accompanied by Mª Jesus Mosquera, vice-rector for Scientific and Technological Policy, has inaugurated the first sessions dedicated to Shipbuilding and Off-shore and Sustainability.

This meeting forum brings together more than 250 speakers, 150 companies related to the sea, 62 universities and research centers, a total of 65 administrations, 60 associations and representatives of civil society, a total of 60 stands and tables for bilateral meetings. B2B. Its objective is to promote the creation of networks and the exchange of good practices in innovation policies and will contribute to aligning the business and research sectors, as well as defining the new roadmap of the Blue Economy innovation ecosystem.
